PADI "Gold" Open Water Scuba Diver Course

The Scuba One beginning open water certification scuba diving course consists of three sections: Classroom, Pool, & Open Water. The classroom and pool sessions met on the average of 5 times, 3 hours per session. With 1 1/2 hrs for classroom & 1 1/2 hrs. for the pool. Some Classes take more and some less time depending on student performance. There is no extra charge if students need more time.

The PADI Open Water Dive Manual, Recreational Dive Planner, and Diver's Log are mandatory for the course and are included in the course fee. Watching the course DVD is also required and the DVD is available with a $30 deposit.
The PADI Open Water Diver, Class and Pool sessions, are broken into 5 sections. The student should watch the DVD, read the manual and do the review questions, located at the end of each section, prior to class.

Open Water Certification Dives:

Once the class & pool sessions are completed, there are several options for students to complete their open water dives for PADI Open Water Certification.   Open Water Certification dives should be completed within a maximum of 12 months after completing classroom and pool training.

Local Certification Dives:

During the summer, Scuba One offers PADI Open Water Certificaiton Dives at Lake Sakakawea. Your training will consist of four dives completed over a two day period, usually Saturday and Sunday.   We generally do the dives off our boat when practical.

Upon completion of your classroom and pool training, we will issue you a student referral to take with you on your vacation. We do not charge an additional fee for your referral paperwork.  Open water certification dives may be completed with any PADI training facility or PADI instructor. The PADI web site includes a current list of PADI training facilities worldwide. Those of you who have already made travel plans will want to follow this procedure. PADI Open Water training fees are set by the dive facility at the resort you travel to.

Upon completion of PADI Open Water training dives with Scuba One, you will receive the PADI “Gold” Open Water certification (or Junior Open Water if under age 15).  This certification allows you and a certified buddy to dive independently throughout the world.

We also now offer the classroom portion to be done online
