Enjoy world class diving and snorkeling in the clear waters surrounding the island of Roatan. The island hosts part of the second largest coral reef in the world - countless varieties of tropical fish, colorful sponges, and 65 of the 67 known Caribbean corals, make up this diverse reef system. The spectacular wall diving begins in only 20 to 45 feet of water. The water temperature typically ranges from 78 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit, with visibility usually between 80 and 150 feet.
Diving is easy from The Inn of Last Resort has three 42' custom-built dive boats. Each of the boats has a large stern platform for giant stride entries, two large ladders for climbing back aboard the boat, and a deck overhead providing shade below, or a place to sunbathe above. The boats are docked right alongside the resort and adjacent to our dive shop, which has ample space for storage of our guest's dive gear. Most of our over 50 dive sites are located within the protected waters of the North West Marine Reserve, along the northwest coast of the island, and are only a 5 to 10 minute boat ride away.
